Notability

Notability is the test of whether a subject merits its own article. A topic is presumed notable if it has received significant, independent coverage or plays a material role in the Radix ecosystem.^[1]

Guidelines by type

A subject is presumed notable if independent parties have written about it, or if it plays a material role in how the network runs. The bar differs by what the subject is.

• Projects and dApps – deployed to mainnet, or in active public testnet, with a repository or product a reader can open. A launch announcement is not itself notability.
• Validators – registered on-ledger with meaningful delegated stake, or otherwise consequential (an operator who publishes tooling, runs infrastructure others depend on, or whose fee change moves stake). The registration flag, stake, and fee are all readable from the ledger, so the claim is checkable.
• Tokens – a resource address, a real supply, and liquidity or holders beyond the deployer. A memecoin with a chart and a Telegram group is usually a line in a broader page, not an article.
• People – recognised contributors, founders, or maintainers, documented by what they have shipped or governed rather than by self-description. Community is a curated set of such biographies, not a directory of everyone with a wallet.
• Events and proposals – documented milestones, protocol upgrades, conferences, or governance decisions with a public record. Live proposals belong in the Ideas pipeline until they are decided.

Notability in practice

Three standing decisions show where the line has fallen, and should be followed unless the facts have changed:

• Not yet is a real answer. A repository with no adoption, no releases, and no official standing is watched, not written up. It earns a mention inside a broader page – a tooling list, an ecosystem section – and a standalone article only once something depends on it.
• Related subjects merge. Every Radix grant and funding programme was once its own thin page; all of them are now chronological sections of Radix ecosystem funding, which is more useful than four stubs and easier to keep current. Prefer one strong page over several weak ones.
• Notability is not a filter on outcome. A project that has wound down keeps its article; the status changes, the page stays. Deleting the record of a failure would leave the wiki describing an ecosystem in which nothing ever stops – see neutral point of view.

Notability governs whether a subject gets its own page. It says nothing about whether a claim can be included – that is verifiability – and a conflicted editor cannot manufacture it by writing at length about their own project, per conflict of interest.
