AthenaBIO (formerly AthenaDAO) is a decentralized community advancing women's health research, education, and funding through collaborative global networks. The organization sources, funds, and incubates academic and industry R&D by connecting researchers with legal, strategic, scientific, and market support.

AthenaBIO operates as a BioDAO within the Bio Protocol ecosystem, utilizing blockchain technology and community-held tokens for transparent capital allocation in early-stage women's health research and biotech.

Research Projects

AthenaBIO has three active research projects, all focused on ovarian aging:

• Novel targets to delay ovarian aging — In partnership with Gero, identifying new therapeutic targets
• ISR pathway for ovarian follicle survival — Investigating the integrated stress response pathway
• cGAS-STING pathway and senescence in ovarian aging — Studying inflammatory pathways in reproductive aging

The organization has also published "The Data and Wearables Report" addressing data ownership, governance, and value in health technology. Key partners include Bio Protocol, Molecule, VitaDAO, ID Theory, Beaker DAO, The LAO, and Paramita VC.
