Russell Harvey is an American computer scientist and executive. He has been the Chief Technology Officer at RDX Works since August 2020.
Early life and education
Harvey studied Computer Science at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001.
Career
Microsoft (2001-2004)
After graduating, Harvey worked as a Software Design Engineer in Test at Microsoft in Redmond, Washington between 2001-2004. He was responsible for quality assurance and testing of communication between Visual Studio and Windows CE-based handheld devices and smartphones. He developed automated testing frameworks using C# and C++.
Kaiser Permanente (2004-2014)
In 2004, Harvey joined Kaiser Permanente as a Lead Web Developer. He was part of a leadership team focused on helping struggling web projects, setting architectural standards and introducing agile web development processes. He worked on applications using Java/Struts and Oracle databases.
Between 2007-2012, he was a Technology Consultant/Specialist, responsible for designing and developing business intelligence and data visualization dashboards and tools using ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server and SQL Server Analysis Services.
From 2012-2014 Harvey was the Principal Technology Consultant for Kaiser Permanente's Infrastructure Management Group. He led projects focused on decision support, data analysis and talent management systems.
Ninja Metrics (2014-2015)
Harvey worked as Manager of the Algorithms Group at Ninja Metrics, a machine learning startup, for a year between 2014-2015. He oversaw the backend systems and architecture using AWS and Java. He also worked on optimizing their API and data insights products.
Calendar Research LLC (2015-2018)
Harvey founded and led Calendar Research LLC as CEO between 2015-2018. The company created Rangle, an app for coordinating meetups with friends, available on iOS, Android and web. He oversaw the full stack development using Xamarin and AWS.
He3Labs (2018-2020)
At blockchain startup He3Labs between 2018-2020, Harvey worked as CTO, architecting and delivering blockchain middleware services. He worked extensively on zero knowledge proof based security and authentication solutions. He also helped deliver a blockchain prototype for Native American tribes covering identity, banking, land registration and voting systems.
Radix DLT (2020-present)
In August 2020, Harvey joined Radix DLT as Chief Technology Officer. Radix DLT is developing a layer 1 decentralized finance protocol to make DeFi accessible for mainstream adoption. As CTO Harvey oversees product development and delivery for the Radix platform.
