Overview
The Radix Accountability Council (RAC) is a 5-member elected body responsible for overseeing key aspects of Radix's decentralization journey. Established through a community consultation process, the RAC serves as the primary governance mechanism for decisions affecting the Radix network's transition to full community ownership.
Current Status
Five members were elected in February 2026: Peachy, Faraz, Jazzer_9F, Avaunt, and projectShift. In March 2026, Alfred Dulaire was welcomed as a new/replacement member. Regular calls are now happening, establishing operational cadence.
Key priorities include:
- MIDAO legal entity formation — establishing a Marshall Islands DAO structure for the community entity
- Uninterrupted ledger function — ensuring network continuity during the decentralization transition
- A wallet update was shipped enabling manual Signalling Server configuration, supporting the decentralization of infrastructure services
Impact
The RAC represents a critical step in Radix's journey from a foundation-led project to a fully community-governed network. The council's work on MIDAO legal entity formation will provide the legal framework needed for community-administered funds, including the Validator Subsidy transition and future ecosystem funding. The RAC also coordinates with ongoing Gateway Decentralization efforts.
