Overview

The Hyperscale public test in January 2026 demonstrated the most significant throughput milestone in Radix history. The network sustained 500,000+ transactions per second with peaks exceeding 800,000 TPS, processing real DeFi-style swaps across 128 shards with full cross-shard atomic composability.

• Linear scaling confirmed: 250k TPS on 64 shards → 500k TPS on 128 shards (exact proportional scaling)
• Real workload: complex DeFi swap transactions, not simple transfers
• Open participation: 590+ nodes from datacenters, desktops, and laptops
• Commodity hardware: validators ran on AWS m6i.xlarge (4 cores, 16GB RAM)
• Infrastructure: 384 bootstrap nodes, 40 validators, 6 load generators
