Where [Dan Hughes](/community/dan-hughes) wrote the protocol, [Matthew Hine](/community/matthew-hine) wrote the design essays and [Piers Ridyard](/community/piers-ridyard) made the commercial case, Simmons held the seat that faced the community, and he held it through the period in which Radix stopped being a company project and started becoming a [DAO](/contents/tech/core-concepts/radix-governance). He is also, as of August 2026, the last individual to have his name on a Radix blog post. Every post the blog has published since [4 July 2025](https://www.radixdlt.com/blog/how-to-join-the-radix-rewards-public-test) is signed "Radix" as an institution. ## From RDX Works to the Foundation Simmons was publishing on the Radix blog from [27 April 2021](https://www.radixdlt.com/blog/radix-website-updated), and the subject matter of his posts places him on the marketing and go-to-market side of the business rather than the engineering side: a website relaunch, the [Olympia](/contents/tech/releases/radix-mainnet-olympia) launch date, the [Instabridge](/ecosystem/instabridge) route that made XRD a cross-chain token, and a marketing update after [Babylon](/contents/tech/releases/radix-mainnet-babylon). His [LinkedIn profile](https://www.linkedin.com/in/adamsimmons1) gives the RDX Works title as Chief Strategy Officer. The move that matters is dated. On [29 November 2024](https://www.radixdlt.com/blog/a-new-phase-for-radix-adam-simmons-joins-the-radix-foundation-as-cso), in a post written under his own byline by Dan Hughes, Simmons was announced as Chief Strategy Officer of the Radix Foundation rather than of RDX Works. The announcement is explicit that the separation is the point: the Foundation role was set up to operate independently of the technology company so that the community had an advocate who did not report into it. Hughes framed it as part of a wider restructuring that pulled the two organisations apart while keeping them aligned on mission. The company register agrees with that sequence. Simmons resigned his RDX Works directorship on 24 January 2025, eight weeks after the Foundation announcement. ## What the register records Companies House lists Adam Leslie Simmons as a director of [RDX Works Ltd (10864928)](https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/10864928/officers), appointed 18 December 2023 and resigned 24 January 2025. That is his only appointment anywhere in the UK Radix group. This is worth stating precisely, because the Foundation announcement of [29 July 2025](https://www.radixdlt.com/blog/in-memory-of-dan-hughes-founder-of-radix), published after [Dan Hughes’s](/community/dan-hughes) death, said that Simmons as Chief Strategy Officer and Jonathan Day as Finance Director would join Andy Jarrett as Directors of the Radix Foundation. The officer list for the UK company of that name, [The Radix Foundation (12106715)](https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/12106715/officers), read on 25 August 2026, records five officers and four resignations, and the only active one is Andrew John Jarrett, appointed 10 February 2025. No Simmons appointment appears on it. There is no contradiction between those two statements, but there is a place to look for the answer. Control of the group moved to **Radix Foundation Limited**, a Jersey company (registration 156362), in February 2025, and Jersey does not publish a director list in the way Companies House does. A Foundation directorship taken up in mid-2025 would sit there, invisible to the UK register. The register therefore dates his RDX Works service to the day and says nothing at all about his Foundation board seat, which is the same gap the wiki notes on [Matthew Hine](/community/matthew-hine) and the opposite of the position for [Piers Ridyard](/community/piers-ridyard). ## Stepping back On [28 April 2026](https://www.radixdlt.com/blog/foundation-update-moving-to-maintenance-mode) the Foundation announced that it was moving to maintenance mode, and named Simmons as the most senior of several long-standing team members winding down formal Foundation roles. The post gives the reason as completion rather than departure: with the operational handover ready, his day-to-day role had concluded, and the remaining directors continue with financial and fiduciary oversight unaffected. Simmons is quoted in it saying "I’m not going anywhere. I’m just changing seats." The announcement is one of the markers this wiki uses to date the end of the Foundation’s operational phase, alongside the funded handover of critical infrastructure and the standing up of the [Radix Accountability Council](/ecosystem/radix-accountability-council).
